My two years with AmeriCorps were at Greenbrier Learning Center. |
Life is too short and too meaningful to shun what truly
inspires us. After undergraduate study in economics and environmental science,
two years of service with AmeriCorps, and research in transportation policy
while earning my masters degree, I’ve come to recognize the monumental
importance of effective public policy. Upon graduation this May, I am looking
to join an organization that integrates environmental, economic and social
objectives into its core values.
I am specifically interested in using my acquired knowledge
to work in a capacity that harmonizes economic growth with sustainability by
promoting methods of transport that emit substantially less carbon than traditional
forms. The private sector is already releasing a fairly robust composition of
electric vehicles, yet electric charging stations are still very limited in
number. Continued public and private cooperation, investment in charging
infrastructure, further research, and consumer incentives will lead to a more
rapid deployment of electric vehicles – an endeavor worth making a career out
of.
